In 1994, an energetic and smart lady, Ardyn Craig, recognized the benefits that a Toastmasters Club could bring to our community.  So, she rallied 19 individuals together to form Universal City Toastmasters (UCTM.)

Over the years, the UCTM Club has worked hard to fulfill the Toastmasters’ Mission Statement “to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.”

Four Fantastic youth graduated as Junior Toastmasters , completing the Youth Leadership Program .The ceremony took place in the company of family, friends and the members of Universal City Toastmasters. The program was sponsored by the Universal City Toastmasters Club. DTM Ardyn Craig and DTM Atheria Scott served as coordinators during the eight week course. We congratulate and celebrate their achievement.

3rd Place Evaluation

The District 55 Spring Conference was held at the YO Ranch and Resort in Kerrville, this weekend.  The evaluation contest was held on Friday, April 30th; with our very own David Scott representing Division G.  It was a tough competition.  David gave a great evaluation and was awarded 3rd place!!!  Congratulations, David for this awesome accomplishment.


WHAT?

Bring in “ONE” new member and receive - $15 Toastmasters Gift Certificate

Bring in “TWO” new members and receive - $20 Toastmasters Gift Certificate

Bring in “THREE” new members and receive - $25 Toastmasters Gift Certificate

HOW?

When: 1- you get a person to join UCTMs, 2- the new member attends 3 meetings, and 3- s/he gives his/her icebreaker by June 30, 2010* …THEN you will receive the above gift certificate.

WHEN?

Certificates will be given during our annual Summer celebration.

WHO?

Invite a family member, friend or co-worker to join.  HOWEVER, if none of the above is interested, invite a stranger to join our UCTMs family.

HOW?

We have brochures and magazines you can pick up at our next meeting so you can distribute.  You could make up your own fliers and…

……take a walk through your neighborhood to distribute them, or just

……place them at different businesses, doctor’s offices, etc………

Be creative and have fun!!!!!!

 

The basket that included all those goodies donated by our club members received an honorable mention at The Spring Conference. But during the silent auction our basket brought in the most money!!! We would like to thank Atheria Scott for spearheading this project and everyone that brought in donations for the basket.
